ICEBERG

ICEBERG
I laid low in the blues of Atlantic
Growing like a baby in her womb.
Unannounced, unexpected
Like an illegitimate bastard.
Winter, my cold father had gone
Leaving his mistress of youth
Alone in the emptiness of Atlas.
Breeding anguish and grief.
In the dark nights
North of the ocean
I befriended a silver stone
In the ocean above me.
Brisk northern winds
Embraced me by the day
Crystal-clear calm seas
Sang to me in the night.
I laid asleep in the arms of April
Waiting for my bell
Unaware, uninformed
Like a suicide bomber.
A colony of gulls flew by
Whispering animatedly
Looking back at the shore
In disturbed chorus of songs
A beam of light sparkled
Like a rainbow in the sky
A wailing followed
Like that of a ship.
She shook at the sight of me
Oh the Unsinkable!
She flew like young sheep
On the hills of Alps.
Even the vast blues
Was too little.
All the horsepower
And nowhere to gallop away
I took her down
In the early hours of day
Into the courtyard of abyss
The valley of no return.
Neither Jack nor Ross
Nor their eternal love
Knew I lived; I was waiting!
I the inevitable- ICEBERG!
